In southern Transylvania, the communist regime built an already  obsolete industry, metallurgy, with enormous financial sacrifices. Hundreds of thousands of cheap, mainly unskilled young workers  were brought in from all over the country. They were given a simple,  small service apartment and many started families with many  children. With the fall of the dictator, the plan also failed. Overnight, this  rootless crowd became unemployed, many families collapsed and many innocent children were taken to the streets. Csaba Böjte welcomed the first child to Deva in 1993.  This black and white film photo essay is about them.
